All subjects at AVT conclude with an individual written assignment in which you demonstrate how the material learned can generate value in a current issue in your organization
All 18 individual subjects on AVT's MBA program are completed and passed with a small written assignment that you write individually. You will also receive feedback and a grade from the subject's teacher.
As the teachers at AVT come from different schools in the world, the format of the assignment can also vary from subject to subject. But common to all the tasks is the purpose of giving you the opportunity to apply what you have learned in the subject in question to a current problem in your organisation. This supports AVT's general practical approach to learning, where everything you learn at school must be able to be translated into direct action and value in your organizational context.
Scope: The tasks are 2000-3000 words, corresponding to 6-8 pages, and are generally prepared in a 'Business Report Format' which typically consists of the following elements:
- Description of the challenge or opportunity
- Analysis of the situation
- Proposal of a solution including recomendations 'going forward'
Assignments are written and handed in in English, as all AVT's teachers come from abroad.
So, in addition to training your strategic analysis skills, you will also strengthen your skills in producing management communication in English and in a 'to the point' format.
However, your assignment is not assessed on how good you are at writing in English, but rather how good you are at being able to translate your new knowledge into something that can make a difference in your organisation.
If you were to find yourself in a situation in between jobs, and thus without an organization to write an assignment for, you can choose to write for any other organization from which you can obtain relevant data and insights.
